Rough idle, surging, stalling

I have a 2000 passport with 90,000 miles 4WD Automatic. When I start the car, the rpms shoot up to 2000 rpms, then it slowly decreases to below 1000 rpms and starts to get rough, and eventually stalls.

I have changed the mass airflow senser, cleaned the EGR gasket and valve with no success. Still having the same problem. Any suggestion??
