I just got my license a few months ago and my parents gave me their old 1999 Chevy Malibu. I want learn how to drive a Manuel car. I want to buy something easy to learn and not much more than $2,000. Can anyone give me some suggestions on a good car. I would appreciate it.

you might be able to find a second gen saturn sc2 for that much. or atleast a first gen.

why not just go on autotrader and look for a car within 300 miles, 5 speed and under $2000

whatever turns up is what you might want to consider, for the most part, the newer the better and the less power and less weight the easier it should be to learn how to drive stick...

j-body cavalier/sunfire is one possible option (1994-2000 ??)
pretty old preludes, civics, integras and accords are another option...

look around at what you like the looks of and then research them more, be realistic and make sure to find something that doesn't need a lot of work and doesn't need a lot of maintenance (pretty much any turbo car)

Or you could get your dad/mom to test drive a 5 speed, then let you practice on that in a parking lot, or dead end road.
