lol well judging by the manifold its a 4 banger....the rb is out. Turbo240 (ams) specializes in KA-T.

do you have to do anything to your block or can the ka take it??

depends on a variety of things. Do some research on ka-t.org, it will help you.

lol lazy? Your swapping a motor.....thats more work. Then you have to do all the stuff to that motor as you would to a ka to make it worth a damn anyways......

That's a good point, I would probably use the AMS kit since it's only a little more expensive than an SR, but I'm not very confident in my ability to fab up any intercooler piping.

yeah mabie... its easier to me though, i've done four swaps, all have been on hondas, as much touble as i have getting things to run right i'd rather just swap it. Plug and play is much easier to me. I don't know too much about gaping rings or repalceing engine internals and all that. I'm strictly a "parts replacer".

looks hot dude, if i was redoing my ka setup i'd be going after the AMS setup those guys are awesome, and super nice guys. for the price you cant beat there setup, chuki you going Advance rebuild or no? also is that the gt32 or gt33 turbo...? looking good man, keep it up,

yea i plan on doing up the motor pretty well. Full bottom end with v3 cams which obviously requires valvetrain. I want it to be just balls out strong and make power as easily as it can. I cant wait for them to release there intake manifold also.
the turbo is just a 50 trim they offer with the kit. You can tell them you want the gt32(or whatever turbo) but they will add price accordingly. I just told them im looking for around 350 whp for now so they told me the standard 50 trim .48 AR would be plenty for my current goal. My buddy has a gt35r on his evo mr and wants to upgrade. So i may buy that off him when he's done with it.

the kit is pretty much plug in play, you just need a FMIC setup, fuel managment, and some injectors and TADA!!!!! instant 350+whp

Do you mean any turbo or any turbo they offer (gt32, gt33 or gt35) I want something smaller, but that manifold does look really nice...and it's bottom mount which is a definite plus...350whp would be nice, but my aim is like 250whp or less lol so a gt32 seems a little like overkill, though I could do low psi...though I'd still have more lag than I want :-/

go with a t2 setup, 250whp would be easily reached with a t28 and a decent setup.. :2cents:

well that's what I'm thinking, but I really like that manifold :lol2: so I wanted to know if they made it for something other than a gt33,32,35...I wouldn't run a large turbo to achieve such low horsepower numbers. I may not know a lot about turbos, but I know enough to know what not to do.
I'm thinking of going with a t25 at first and once I'm bored with 200whp, I'll upgrade to a gt28rs and since it has a t25 inlet flange I won't have to get a different manifold or mod much of anything...then I'll be in the 250-300whp range with maybe 12-15 psi :)...haven't done the math, but that sounds about right considering what people with 2.0L engines are making with the disco potato...
I'm even looking into a cheap vmount setup, but not sure if that's worth the trouble...

the turbo plan sounds ok, if i was in your place id just start out with a t28 to save the trouble. i think youll get bored with the t25 quick but thats just me. a v-mount may not be worth your troubles, but that depends on your money and time situation.. 240sxmotoring did it on their drift car and it came out good... im not sure if they sell a kit or anythign tho.

I may go with a t28 from an s15 sr20 or something similar...it will definitely have more topend than a t25, but I think the t25 might be enough for quite awhile and they are really, really cheap. Plus I plan to retain the stock exhaust and probably only use the car on the street as a daily driver so top end isn't nearly as important as good power/torque from 2500-4000rpms.
The vmount setup I'm thinking about will use an OE neon srt 4 intercooler...the intercooler is pretty short so it shouldn't take too much work to make a v-mount, but I may just try a standard fmic setup and see if cooling becomes an issue. I was just thinking that if cooling becomes a problem if I track the car then maybe a diy vmount setup would be cheaper than upgrading the radiator and crap.
I've got time to think about what I'm doing though...so I may change what I plan to do completely.

if you feel that the t25 would be good, all the better, it is cheaper.. i just think youll get bored with it quick, and a t28 on low boost will allow you close to the same power, and its not like you have to worry about more lag or anything. they both spool up immediately. i just think of it as if youre goign to upgrade anyways, and its not gonna be a far upgrade than from what you already have, it would make more sense to go with the upgrade in the first place to save some time and money...:2cents:
as far as the intercooler goes, i dont think youre going to have to worry about cooling as an issue with an fmic, but again, its your car, time and money. good luck with whatever you chose to do

Probably right about the t28...I actually heard it spools faster because it's ball bearing even though it offers more potential for horsepower. I just don't want to start off with a turbo that offers lots of power since I'm sure I'll lose my license. On my n/a 2.5L sentra I just got bagged for 96 in a 65 a few months ago :-/.
The vmount might be a little much for cooling needs, plus the front mount I have my eye on isn't that big so it shouldn't completely block the radiator. Could always make an i/c sprayer and make it hose down the radiator if I do have cooling problems from drifting or multiples runs at the drag strip.

yea an fmic should be fine, especially where youre only running 250whp at what like 10psi? you shouldnt have too many probs with cooling

manifold is t3 flange only. I dont see why you would want such a nice mani for 250 hp anyways. Yea flow is better, but there are still way cheaper/quality manifolds out there that would suit that. The gt32 usually is spooled at about 3200 rpms, some sooner. Not bad at all. Everyone that has one, has no complaints about spool time.
