If you still have your owners manual, look in there; it should list all the tire sizes that will fit depending on towing/payload. At least mine does for my 92 K2500. I think my door tag says 245, but right now I have 265's for the winter and a set of 285's for the summer.

My 95 has 285's/16 on it. No problem.

sorry to take so long to reply computer problem. the sticker on the door says 225/75/16 every shop and website state 245 as a larger replacement i have seen newer models with 265 and 285 but for some reason the newer trucks seem to sit up higher and have more clearance to accept a larger tire just never seen an 88 stock truck with 265 anybody out their know for sure? and thanks guys for replying.
