Wax & Tape

So i recently decided to paint a piece from the dash of my car.. rubbed it down.. used krylon.. lots of clear.. compound n waxed it.. looked great.. but then i decided.. i needed a portion of it to be black.. so i taped it off.. sprayed it.. take the tape off.. (green painters masking tape) and now the glue from the tape is not coming off of the painted piece. I tried "goo gone".. no work.. im not sure what todo.. how can i go about.. removing the wax?

I would think 99% rubbing alcohol, or Goof Off. Goof Off can take paint off a 57 chevy though, it is strong.

If not that, strip it and repaint?

99% alchohol will take the paint off along with the wax.. use 70% carefully, as 70% will take the wax off but will also take some of the paint off if you rub too long. I've also heard that washing the model with some dish washing liquid will also work.
I saw this (http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1114) on Hiroboy's site, I'm not sure if this will harm the paint though.

well.. i went ahead n tried some things i thought might work.. first i put it in some hot/warm soapy water.. and scrubbed off as much as i could.. i got off all the sticky stuff.. but it seems like.. somehow the glue.. ate through the wax.. or.. the clear.. i dont know.. something bad happened.. because in the end i had to wet sand it all out.. im so happy i put alot of clear on it when first painting.. because i did not want to paint it again.. so i got it all smoothed out.. re cut n waxed it.. looks gorgeous.. thanks guys

Glad to hear it all worked out well. Next time I think if you just let it dry for a longer time you will not have the problem. You mentioned "lots of clear". That takes lots of time to cure too. Until it cures it is more susceptible to reactions with other materials and chemicals... - Mark
