My break lines just rusted out and they are charged me 120 a side to fix did i get ripped off?

Welcome to AF.
If they had to replace the whole line front to back then thats about right. Since fittings would probly be rusted too and require more time to replace.
So $250 for new brake lines isnt bad.

I did all four for a customer for 400, so your deal there sounds ok. While it seems easy, there is a lot of flaring, fittting, bending, etc. On top of that the lines have to be properly bled, master cylinder refilled... if it was a good job (for the rear only I assume), the brakes are to be cleaned, adjusted, inspected... ultimately, it's a very important element in driveability. Safety... if the guy said he'd do it for 50 bucks a side, you might then be concerned whether you got a cheap hack job. You really do get what you pay for.

no prob... by the way, the original quote they got was about a grand. I did use all the original hardware though, seeing as I had the luxury of working the fittings slowly so as to save them all for re-use.
