1994 Prelude Help

I have the Si H23 Prelude, and I was looking for headers on ebay, but all they have are the cheap ones. Can the VTEC headers from an H22 Prelude fit my engine? I just want some name-brand headears that will last more than two weeks. PM me if you have an answer please, Thanks :)

I was thinking about getting them, I just found out that Megan Racing is fairly decent. I was just looking for some DC Sport ones or something. I just got my car like a week ago. What else is there to do to make it faster? I'm not going to turbo it though. I have just a ram-air intake right now. PM me or something and let me know what else I can do. Thanks :]

No. The VTEC header will NOT fit on the H23. The bolts don't line up, and the down piece on the header is longer on the H23 than it is on the H22. Just get the ones for the h23 if you're gonna get them.
I have a $120 header from ebay on my JDM h22, and i like it. I have no rust, and no cracks.

Ok, thanks. What else can I do to improve performance?

got an exhaust? how fast do you want it? do you have a goal?

H23A1Lude

Yeah I have exhaust. Its got 2.5"piping all the way through and a pretty small tip for the low end torque. Na, I dont have a goal, I just want it fast, without using turbo. So tell me everything I can get that isnt really expensive :]

you must have some sort of goal. a certain hp number? nothing? hmmm i would swap the engine for an h22.

I wanna get around like 170-190 w/o engine swap, because I don't have a job yet, cause I'm about to be 16. But when I do what could I get besides turbo/engine swap?

head work. valvetrain upgrade. camshafts. p&p. there are plenty of things that will get you to 170.

Iight, thanks. How much do you think all that will run me?

it would be like 600 for the springs, retainers, valves, valve seals, and a block guard.

here is the company i use. they can do all of your headwork.

kms engine performance (http://www.honda-performance.com/)

Ok, thanks. Ill talk to my brother about it. But, the page says:
"NOTE! As of January 1st 2007, KMS will no longer accept engine block work. Due to the overflow of cylinder head requests we are targeting our efforts to accommodate the demand."
Would that be a problem?
But what would I do? Take out the engine and ship it to them?

no, just take the head off and send that to them. then they will do the work and send it back to you. leave the block in the car.

Ok, cause I don't know that much about Hondas. My brother is the moderator on AF, and he knows a lot more than I do. But thanks a lot.

you can still get the cheap header off ebay. They produce power over the stock manifolds. I have a cheap one on my h22a and i did notice some improvement, but most of all...the power comes on a little sooner, vtec doesn't slam with a power change at the crossover, and the header looks better than the stock piece and weights about 20lbs less.
With the h23, you're gonna wanna do some head work like the other guy was talking about. The quote said they don't accept engine block work, which means the pistons, cranks, and rods parts.
They'll still do the head, which is where the cams, valve springs, valve retainers, and valves are. I would suggest oversized valves if you're gonna stay away from turbo. More air capability will help the head flow better.
Get an intake from Ebay(less than $30), and then get a good filter
If you do the head work, look into a bigger throttle body.
With header, exhaust, intake, and head work, you should be at or close to 170 to the wheels. By the way, with head work, you may have to have your car tuned to pull the most hP from it.

tuning is the key to everything.

One other thing, How to I take off the speaker covers on the door panel? I was trying to figure it out, and I couldn't. I need to take out the tweeters and the speakers. Also, what about the ones in the back? Sorry I'm asking noob questions, I just don't want to break shit on my first car.

Iight, thanks a lot bro. When I get a job and enough money, I'll look into doing all that :]

I wasn't planing on it. This is Andrew's car..Not the Fast and the Furious.

To get to the front door speakers you have to pull the whole door panel off.
Which is 4 or 5 screws and a couple plugs(for pw, and pl)

if you want it "fast" without an engine swap or turbo then NOS will do the trick. on the stock i4 it comes with a cam swap isn't going to give huge gains, especcially for the price. maybe a 75 shot would be more reasonable, but as long as you don't blow up your engine with it your car will be fast AND furious...:bigthumb:

But I don't want car steroids. I want it to be fast, sure; but I don't want it to be like The Fast and The Furious. No NOS for Andrew.

ah all you need is I/H/E. you'll be fine. wait till you can afford the big things. believe me it takes a LONG time to build the car you want.

I/H/E would be Intake, Header, and Exhaust, right? Sorry dude, I've had a car for like 4 weeks. If that is true, then all I need is a header. I think I will go with Megan Racing off of Ebay, because that's the most expensive one, and I've heard they're pretty good.
