4wd Question

I'm sure this has been asked 100 times, but when i put my truck into and out of 4wd, it makes a clunk? do they all do this? or should it be quiet?

This is normal as the transfer case engages the front wheels.

Actually, I should have said engages AND disengages, sorry.
