My 89 camry 4 cyl. starts when it's hot or cold except in wet or even really damp weather. Then it is hard to start or starts then stalls until it runs for about 20 minutes. I have put new plugs and ignition wires on it but it didn't help at all.

Check your coil and see what happens:grinyes: I'll bet your coil is getting damp. If it is then it's easier just to replace it.

I have to agree with rimfire,22. These generation 2 (1987-1991) Camrys had a lot of problems with the coil developing hairline cracks and shorting itself to any metal ground inside the distributor. The problem was most noticeable in wet or damp weather. Aftermarket coils run about $50.

In addition to the excellent suggestions noted previously, you might want to pop the distributor cap and check the condition inside as well as the rotor.
