Poll: IWC- Locking of old threads

I came across this idea after reading so many ressurected posts in recent days,(many from 2004 and 2005), primarily from newbies who are not following AF's User Guidelines. Since many people do not read the guidelines,(and be honest HOW MANY of us out there actually read the Terms of Service when we join a group or download software?:) )I propose that threads get locked by moderators or someone else in control after a certain length of time has passed, (3 months for example.) This would force individuals to follow the guidelines by starting a new thread and linking to the old thread when they wanted to add something to it. Vote now in the poll to see if that is something you think would be a worthwhile change. Thank you.

EDIT: I'm not a computer expert but I was wondering if there was a way to have the threads be locked, if approved, by doing something within the site instead of having the mods or someone else physically close them? Maybe some sort of program that runs automatically,or by other means.

DO NOT REPLY TO THIS POST WITH YOUR SUGGESTIONS ON HOW THE PROPOSED CHANGE CAN BE MADE BETTER. START YOUR OWN IWC THREAD IF YOU HAVE AN IDEA ON HOW TO FURTHER IMPROVE AF AFTER THIS CHANGE PASSES OR FAILS.
