I have a 1988 4wd 1/2ton suburban with a 350 and tbi. Im just wondering how much fuel is supposed to be coming out of the jets when they are shooting out. Currently im geting a strong fuel smell and after changing the o-rings i no longer have a leak, but i still get a strong smell, while fixing the o-rings i noticed the jets look like they spit out a lot of fuel and wondered if that could be why i smell it so strong. Also wondering if to much fuel could cause something to leak.

The ECM will increase fuel based on inputs from the MAP, 02 and TPS.
If the MAP is bad (will not hold a vacuum or returns wrong value), the ECM could send too much fuel. I also had an issue recently where the vacuum hose to the MAP would not hold a vacuum causing problems.
A bad O2 can cause the ECM to think the engine is running lean and give it more fuel.
If you have access to a scan tool, it would be a good idea to see what the MAP, O2 and TPS are doing.

Yes. I use WinALDL (try a google search to learn more) on a laptop and a special cable (http://www.akmcables.com/ic.htm). WinALDL is limited but does give me the basics.
A scantool can do a lot more and can help determine why you are running rich.
