I am Building the rc211v and i want to use some cf decals on some of the parts. What are the most realistic? Carbon Fiber Twill Weave Black on Pewter 1/20th http://www.hobbyeasy.com/esupplier/images/SMS/SMS1020.jpgAre these any good?, or is there a better set? Also, is 1/20 or 1/12 more realistic?

thanks for the help,
Jordan

It realy depend on your taste, SMS is good choice, 1/20 from SMS is much better then 1/12 at least for me.
Don't forget Micro Set and Sol.
For some parts you can also use high def ones.

I agree... 1/20 scale looks the best... SKU# 1020. It's the same I'm using on my current '05 Valencia build.

What make of carbon fibre decal do you normally use? I recently tried Crazy modeler from the Hiroboy website, and found them very difficult to get down onto curved surfaces, even with micro sol, the microsol did not have much effect on them! I have not tried Studio 27 decals as yet, is it worth paying the extra for them? Cheers

SMS and Studio27 are my favorites. Modelers CF decals are also OK.

I only have used studio 27 and renaissance. The Renaissance had lots of faults on the patern (with spots..) and it tore easily. Studio 27 decal was much better and reacted great on microsol
I'm currently making a car in 1/12 and use 1/24 carbon decals. The 1/12 is just WAY to big! i guess 1/20 would be the best solution.

I think the guy who runs it lived in the UK... but you can try one of their UK distributors:
