I have a 2006 Dodge Ram with a 5.7 L multi-displacement hemi. I installed a K&N intake and a magnaflow exhaust. It's kinda loud and I hear the engine switching from 8 to 4 cylinders and back again all the time. It seems like it's searching for gears and sometimes it sounds like it's bogged down too low. Anyway I was wondering if there's a way to re-program the computer so it always uses 8 cylinders. Does anyone know?

I've learned to use Tow/Haul mode when I'm driving around town. It changes the shift points, reduces gear searching, and deactivates the MDS. If you're on the highway it will take a while to shift into 4'th gear so I recommend taking it out of Tow/Haul on the onramp.

A few places will flash the PCM for you and disable the MDS for around $350. KRCPerformance.com and BGPerformancePCM.com. Hope this helps.
