2000+ Celica Race Engine

Does anybody know if there is a race engine you can get for the 2000+ celicas? Cause kmon, we all know that even the GT-S model aint that fast. MY friend that works at a performance parts shop claims he has a 280hp engine in his shop that owuld go into the celica. Has anybody ever heard of anything like it? Apparently it is still a 4 banger but has enlarged pistons, headers, its ported, and titanium cam shafts and stuff like that.

most likely your friend has the 1994-1999 gt4 engine (st205). That engine hauls ass. i swaped that engine into my '94 celica. man the power of that engine is off the hook. the only down side is that the clutch is gone.

would you have to swap out the transmission or anything else? how difficult is it? i found a 3sgte turbo engine & tranny on ebay for $1200... not bad if it'll help as much as everyone says...
