extended swing arm- good or bad?

im really curious cuz i love the way the zx11 looks with the extended swingarm. does anyone have any info on the pros and cons? is it bad for a new rider..or is it not that serious? i would only go about 6 inches. if u check the last zx11 pic on my signature u can see what i mean. ive heard that control on turns is sacrificed but dont know the real deal. if i dont ride reckless can i get away with it? plus im big and tall so the bike would just fit me even better.

it's done to keep the front end from coming up under hard acceleration. it'll negatively effect your handling though. unless you're gonna drag race it's considered kind of squidly.

lol. thanks dude. im gonna quit while im ahead. lol. i knew about the drag racing but was hoping it could be done anyway and ridden with ease. i have heard about the handling but wanted to know if it was that big of a deal because in stunt footage it looked like u had to really crack the throttle to get her to start slipping and sliding. in other words it looked like u could ride it regularly without ill effect. i just think it makes the bike look mean and sort of like something u would see in a movie or comic or some $#it. futuristic. i would like to ride one and see for self but i doubt any1 would allow me to. lol. in the sweet zx11 pic it doesnt appear too dramatic but maybe thats cuz i like the look.

I knew a guy around my area (Pittsburgh, PA) that had an extended swingarm on a Kaw, but he raced drag pretty much every weekend. Watching him try to handle corners on that thing was a joke... It handled about as well as a lifted pickup truck would on a road course (not very well).
