I have A prob. I installed a new battery post backwards after my truck went down when there was a loss of power while i was on the freeway. I jumped it and started and a few seconds turned off. ... Now it runs for 10-15minutes and gets hot and turns off. loos of power. when it cools down it starts up.

I don't think the battery backwards is related or caused it...but....

I would change the crank position sensor. Any codes? O2 sensor, maybe, but I wouldn't rush there. Test it, it should put out about 0.5 volts; its range is .1 to .9 volts.

Could it be a plugged catalytic converter?

Perhaps the thermostat is stuck in the closed position, or low on coolant? Those may also account for the power loss (during the over heating).

I dont think so.. Cause it won't start it should not have any problem with starting.

Time to use your voltmeter on the starter circuit. I have written posts before about voltage testing the starter circuit.

12.6 volts,,,,voltage drops...blah..blah..blah.
