Removal of instrument cluster

How can you remove the instrument cluster from a 1996 Corsica? I've treid the six screws under the headlight and wiper knobs to no avail. I am tring to locate the tachometer wire to attach an external tach, which is shown to be there in a schematic and iv'e seen it done. I have the Hayned repair manual, but it never really mentions how to remove it. I've tried looking underneath but there are alot of wires with dupilicate colors. If anyone could help it would be appreciated! :banghead:
