Does Anyone know if this is true or not. I was told by a corvette reprsentitive today(Chicago Auto Show) that in order to obtain a supercharged Z06 one would need to take a special licensing course/test, and also provide a detailed report of health (basically showing good health and low risk of heart problems or risk of heart attack) from a doctor in order purchase one. The guy who told me this seemed honest.

Z06r? That's a new one on me. Do you mean the 08 Stingray/SS model? It's the supercharged Ulti-vette coming out that people have long dubbed the "blue devil."

If that is the vehicle you're talking about then yes, that's probably true. You probably also have to have a decent auto background (not prone to wrecking, but all things considered, they'd probably ignore the abundant speeding tickets).

Chevy had similar requirements for their beloved L88 Vettes in the late 60's, so I wouldn't be suprised if they re-instated them for the "new L88"'s.

Who know what General Motors will offer or require for the strongly rumored "Blue Devil" ! That's a good year or so in the future, at best.

If your asking about the C6R....... They are not for sale to the public.

Car and Driver had an article about this. They stated that GM execs felt the car was too dangerous for untrained drivers to use. So with the purchase of the car came some road course training (professional drivers exempt). Since you're on their road course, the legal heads obviously wanted some signed documents to protect them and hence the health requirement etc.

BTW...this isn't the C6R, but more of a supercharged Z06 with a few other upgrades.
