It's been pretty cold here in Cleveland these past few weeks. My 2001 LS V8 has been blowing colder and colder air as the temp outside drops. I doubt its a bubble in the system, it seems to blow plenty warm air when the temp outside is in the 20's or 30's - but when we're down in the single digits it struggles to warm up the interior. I don't recall this being an issue when the car was newer. Can the heater core be getting restricted with corrosion? I have 95k miles.

When it is cold outside, does the air from the vents ever get warm? What do you have the climate control temp setting at? How long of a drive are you taking the car on?

To and from work is about an hour - the air at the vents doesn't really warm up until about 30 min into that drive. The temp gauge gets to operating temp about 10 to 15 minutes, but the air vents do not. I have the temp set to 78 or 80. I used to set it it to 73. Even if I crank it to 85, the effect is the same.

Try running the dual zone climate control self test. I know I've posted the steps to do this before, so try a search. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll dig up the steps again and re-post.
