05 Cobalt Keyless Entry

I have a 05 Cobalt LT leather heated seats, premium sound system etc. I bought the car from a used car dealer. When I bought the car the used dealer agreed to pay for the keyless entry controllers because they didnt have any for the car. I took the car to the local GM dealer and the ran the VIN number and told me that the car was not programmed to accept keyless entry. Is this possible? I thought that the LT package came standard with keyless entry. Any advice will be appreciated.
