can my 1993 eclipse GS 1.8L be chipped?

yea so i have a 93 eclipse gs 1.8 wit no mods but bosh platium 2 spark plugs but it has no balls for climbing hills like 4th gear and 5th theres no difference when going up hills even small ones, i am plannin on a cold air intake,headers,dualexzaust but i want something to add at min 20 hp i think after all the research n what people say is that it is best to get a computer ecu chip i dunno if it needs to be sotterd but can you guys give me a list of sum sites were i can buy a cheap! hyperchip, or whatever its called thanks.

i have one more question too how good are the k&n filters ? hp range?

There is no chip for your car. Anything claiming to be a "chip" is a simple resistor mod that will make your ECU think there is a constant intake of 32 degree air, so it adds more fuel and you FEEL like you are getting more power, when actually your just using more gas.

Get an intake with a nice filter (K&N are good and worth the money), header (not headers, you only need one) and like a 2.25" exhaust system will get you somewhere around your goal of 20 hp.

Also, change out your spark plugs with NGK copper plugs. Bosch suck.

It's a 1.8... There is no performance parts specifically made for it. Anything you wanna do your gonna have to fab on your own. Personally, I would not waste my time with that motor. :2cents:

yea thanks, yea i kno the motor sucks, antifreze and oil leak really badddd, but i still beat the fuck out of it lol. but yea ok then ill try that stuff.
