gettin new rims

WheelMax (http://www.wheelmax.com/product.asp?ProdId=9783) hey im planing on gettin these in 17 or 18. wanna get some opinions on them. (how do they look and do you think 18 is 2 big?)

If these guys hate on you, its simply cause they can't afford to buy the rims for themselves...or don't think its cost efficient...well sometimes I think you gotta go with your heart buy them

Wow, sorry man but I really dont like those at all either....

IMO:

18's = performance loss but best looks
17's = decent compromise
16's = good for performance, still look decent
15's = best for performance but just too damn small

I like the 16's the best, on 1g's anyway. 2g's I think you almost have to go 17 or 18.

EDIT: Plus one to what Brian said below me. I have plenty of $$$ for rims, I have 5 sets (:lol:) but you did ask for opinions and thats what we think about them. It is your car and your money so do whatever gets the job done for ya. Most people dont particularly like the rims on my Talon but I love them and I wouldnt trade them for anything.

iaght guys thats cool ur entitled to your opinions, but ive always been a fan of 5-6 spoke rims. oh yeh, steviek, im pretty sure any1 could afford these rims. there only like 120 a peice.

I think that they are ok looking rims...I dont know if I would put them on an eclipse though. But like everyone has said if you like them then go for it. It is YOUR car. If you want to know what they look like on your car I am sure you can find some similar looking to those on www.TireRack.com (http://www.TireRack.com) and you can actually see what they look like. I don't mind those wheels at all, but those are the type that you can really only go one way with, BIG. Those won't look very good as 17's with a mild size tire, you'll need to go 18's with a low-profile tire and probably lower the car at least 1.5", if not more. Those are more "bling" rims than anything else, and I don't think they'd look good on a car as just some "sporty" looking wheels, and trust me, I've dealt with my share of oversized wheels. 17's on my Eclipse, 18's on a Cavy, 19's on my Talon, 20's on my Monte, 20's on the GMC Sierra, and this summer our Suburban will be gettin 22's, so I definitely have experience on what "type" of wheel fits what size.

Also, what color is your car, and you should post a pic if you can. Someone should be able to photoshop them on so you can see what they'll actually look like.

Don't take this personally but those rims are ugly. Also go with a size of 17''.

yeh i just found this wheel visualizer thing. i guess you guys r right they look like crap on my car. It a good thing you guys didnt like em cause i woulnt have found out until it was too late. wow, im in shock.

I'd say it depends on what you plan on doing of course. Factors such as what type of racing, how you drive the car on the street, etc. If it's just for looks, go right ahead, but if gas mileage, acceleration, weight through corners means anything to you at all, I'd look into it a little deeper.

On the other hand, 17" are sweet, 16" can be too. 18" is overdoing it IMO.

Its not the fact that they're big, or to show off, its just they're goddamn ugly.

You could get some Volk's in 19's, plenty enough chrome and they still atleast have a bit of performance packed in there. Doesn't matter what size it is, ugly wheels are just ugly wheels.

I think those would look bomb on a black escalade or somehtin not on a red eclipse though. quick question i thought most big brake kits need 18"s to fit inside correctly?

No...most big brake kits require 17's to fit correctly at least all the ones that I have seen.

-$200 for a set off Z32 TT wheels
-$225 for 2 new tires.
-$10 for 2 cans of black paint.

I'm more than pleased with my wheels. I say if money is tight, look for a used set that includes tires versus droppin nearly a grand for wheels and tires. I know how the broke college kid role is, so I got lucky with my wheels, lol. Gotta love drifters.

Yes! XeVeNskyLiNE and Thor06 throwin down for the black 300zx rims! Woot! Ha ha, except I got a way better deal.... I got the rims with Yokos (a bit more than 50% life left) for $80. Lesson learned: help your homies, they will help you out back.

But thats true though, if you help the right people you'll eventually get something in return. Plus knowing alot of car people always help, I got my set from my old roommate's co-worker who was a drifter, so his garage just had sets of wheels laying around.

But who woulda guessed Z wheels would be a perfect fit a DSM, lol. Not to mention the offset is damn near perfect with 5mm spacers.
