351 Cleveland heads?????

Hey, does anyone know the max. valv lift that can be obtained on a set of stock 351 Cleveland 2V heads???? Thanks, and also what aftermarket heads would you reccomend If I were to replace the stocky 2V's

I do belive it's around .300-.400. Don't quote me on that. If you don't want to spend to much money get a 60's or 70's set of 4V heads and have them rebuilt and P&P them.

Thanks, I was thinking of getting an original set of 4V heads but I wasn't sure if it was worth having an original set machined or buying an aftermarket set

Head work is not cheap, if done right anyway. Alot of times its best to just pick up a set of aftermarket heads rather than have some stockers worked up. But I'm not sure how much aftermarket there is for the clev.

Thats what I was thinking, I saw a set of edelbrock heads on summit for around 900 bucks

You saw ONE cylinder head for $900. A pair of assembled aftermarket Cleveland heads will be in the $1800-2200 range depending on parts options. CHI (http://www.chiheads.com/) out of Australia makes aluminum 351C heads and has the longest option list on them for port, chamber, and valve sizes. They even have recast 4V iron heads.
