start up issue

I have a strange start up issue I was wondering if anyone had any clue about for the 2000 LS (v8).

When I turn the key, the care starts fine...however, all the guages (speedometer, tach, fuel) peg to the limit for a second and the windshield wipers wipe once, then everything is normal.

I don't know that what you are experiencing is that unual. Many cars perform a guage test at start-up. I don't think my 2004 does, but I'm not sure about your 2000.

As for the wipers, the owner's manual states that if you leave the auto wipers on, they may make a pass when the car is started.

Thanks, Rod...I can't say that I remember it from before, but as long as it's not something that will progress I guess I can live with it.

Anyone else with a 200 LS have the same thing?
