Hey all- my friend just told me that he thinks that he can take a Y80 GSR trans (which is hydraulic of course), and convert it into a cable actuated trans  he says that he would be able to put the shift fork, and the bracket, etc. from like a Y1 cable trans, and transfer it over to the GSR trans. Then you would have a nice non grinding trans, w/ double coned synchros in 2nd and 3rd :) which would be nice. I dont think this is possible...anyone know for sure? i've heard of a kit made for 92+ civics that allow them to use a cable trans.....but not coverting the transmission..im confused. any help would be great

To tell you the truth I have no clue...I think it might just be easier to convert to a hydrauilc setup and run the straight GSR transmission.

my friend who did my swap was talking to my other friend who graduated from UTI, and they think that it's very possible. i think it would be pretty sweet....i'd probably save for the ITR trans...mmmmmm helical LSD :)
