b18c headers in b16a?

does any1 know if headers from b18c will fit into a b16a?

I'm not exactly sure...try pming Pete...he probably knows.

Yes they will fit as the ports are the same size/location on the B series engines. However, the flange that connects to the cat may be differently shaped and the header for a B18 (especially the ITR) will be longer than a B16 - as in you will lose more ground clearance.

Why?

Because prior to the end of '73, the only cars Honda produced were the S500, S600 and S800, along with the Coupe 7, Coupe 9 and N360 series including the Z two cylinder) plus carry vans.

At the end of '73, the Civic was first released to become their most successful sales per unit per year to the end of the run in '79, outstripping the Accord.

Pity that today the best selling Honda in Australia is the CRV :(

First used on the S500 prototype and subsequently on every Honda car. Prior to that, Honda used a wing emblem on their motorbikes (and still do today on some if dad's Goldwing is anything to go by). I guess when Sochiro was producing piston rings for aircraft engines in WW2 he didn't need the logo.

OT (well more so): Legend tells of the day that Japan surrendered, Sochiro sold his casting business, bought a cask od sake and proceeded to get pissed with his mates. With the remainder of the cash from the sale he then founded the Honda motorbike company.

Oh, I forgot to mention - the N-series cars also had a slightly different H on their guards - more of a H in a shield, as did the first series of 1-gen Civics and some Accords. They all still wore the one we see today front and back though - slightly different size and shape on the S-series, N-Series and Coupes pre-70s ;)

Really...having no way to check accuracy, I will forge ahead. How many Honda S600s were produced and how many sold in Australia. What in particularly made them revolutionary at the time. :finger: hopefully for the last time.

Dunno on the production figures or Aussie figures, but the car was revolutionary for being a DOHC 8-valve, roller bearing crank(!!!!) with quad (not twin) Kei-hin motorbike carbs that revved out to 8500rpm in factory trim. The drivetrain was chains running to the rear axle, no prop shaft (this was changed in the S800 to conventional axle).

Power was 57bhp @ 8500rpm. Pretty damn sweet in a tiny car that looks like a dream.

I DID have extensive knowledge in all topic areas mentioned - justnot as specific. FYI- There were ~3-5000 sold in Aus and about 130 are still in Australia.
