you can get the manuel at any autoparts store i believe and i get by with the basic crafsman 150 piece tool set rachet, socket 1/4 in and 1/2 drive preferably and unless you are doing anything major i think you will get by with the things ive listed.

craftsman..
do they sell that at home depot??
because the local canadian tire only has like mastercraft and job mate..
mastercraft comes with life time warrenty... but its expensive..
any suggestions?

craftsman is expensive too i was just saying something llike that my suggestion is finding some brand that you find resonable and make sure it has a lifetime warrenty those come in handy.I dont have a home depot around here so i couldnt tell ya i do know that sears menards most tool oriented stores will sell what you need. oh auto zone or pep boys or some place along those lines will let you borrow tools for a small fee but will return your money when you return with the tool.

as said above, get a shop manual for your specific car.
it will tell you how to do all repairs on your car.

as for tools, a basic socket set will do the trick until you get into heavy-duty repairs.
i'd recommend craftsman because they dont break, and if they do, you can bring it back and get a new one for free

you will eventually need to get better tools, but i'd suggest getting them as you need them.

a good 75 piece set will be fine for now

i just got a 550 piece kit and it is a savior.
without it i would have been unable to complete a repair on my car that i started

both of those seem more than adequate for a beginner and just about right for more advanced reapairs.
you will need to add on to it of course, but that seems like a great start

one thing that i really like about my kit is that it has a big empty part in the case where i can put extra tools that i accumulate.
