Although the odds are very low, does anybody know if there is an RX-5 kit in or out of production? I wanna try replicate my & my brothers car (it is technially mine too, considering he got it free from my neighbour, I do all the work on it and chances are that I will get it when he gets a new car (Atleast whats left of it :p ))

Is 121 (RX-5) called Cosmo? Is the body style almost the same?
If so, there are several OOP kits floating around, such as
1/20 by Nagano:

and 1/22 scale by Yamada

Do you have a pic of your 121?

Nah, sorry, I dont have any pics, when I get a digi camera (I think I have nearly talked Dad into it!!!) I will take pics to show you all.
The Mazda 1977 121 is liturally a RX-5 Cosmo with out a rotary engine (a few other minor changes) but the body is exactly the same.
But because the car has had one owner since it was purchased new from the dealer in 1977, the car has had to be changed, so the rearvision mirrors are where they should be (not up near the bonnet, but on the doors).
Is there any other sites that may have that kit? and how much is 5,000 yen, in australian or American $?
Cheers.

5000 yen is about 40 USD or 74 AUD.
5000 yen for such an old kit sounds too expensive. The Cosmo of that era has been reissued several times, and there should be more common 1/24 scale version as well. Since most of them are motorized and doesn't have engine details, so it should be usable to represent your car.
I check Yahoo auction quite often, so I'll remember when I see one.

I gotta the 1/20 Cosmo RX-5. IT´s superb.Metal suspension with springs , openable bonnet with doors and trunk, hollow tyres , reclining bucket seats....A pity about the windows aspect ,a bit out of shape.

There are also the Nichimo´s 1/28 model and the currently in production from Doyusha , the same as older Yamada´s, as Hiro appointed , inlcuding Nagano.
