Hi Guys
How are you all!!
I need some recommendation
One week ago I recently when to the repair shop to change my sending Unit & Fuel pump to fix my Fuel Gauge Problem, (In Fact the sending Unit comes already with the fuel pump in a complete piece, a kind of plastic cylinder).
Anyway I drove around the city a couple of days in order to fill up my gas tank. Everything worked well I even noticed my fuel gauge was going down slowly. Until this morning, its was very cold, I try to fill up my gas tank with no succes, Evertime the pump was stopping like if the tank was full.
I could not reach the 3$ mark to fill up my gas tank, I manage to try
3 different gas station. Then that dam freaking check Engine light came on.
Everything is ok with this Car, it start goods, A1 ...
I went back to my repair shop, actually they told me they do a check on it
Today , Finally they said it was a kind of check valve or something in the opening where you put gas that was the problems. They did not charge me nothing for it and the check engine light came off.
I will wait a few days now before Fill up. I will post update
Do you guys have any recommendation, tips, suggestion for a confuse Guy :frown:

I sure wish that I could help more but I am offering support and will listen to you blow steam if you need to.
I had an issue with my GP the other night. It ran out of gas and the gas aguge was not working. I checked to see the price of the floater thing that goes in the tank and a store told me that they only sell the unit package which is 300 smackeroos. I think I am just going to keep up with my mileage and go from there.

Thanks for your reply
Did you fuel Gauge was working before? If no then you need to change all the sending units ( Fuel Pump & Floater) it comes all in the same pieces. It cost me 570$ Canadian Fund ( Gas Pump+Sending unit + Labour + Taxes. ) I dont recommend that you depend only on your trip reading cause if you get stuck in traffic then your reading will be wrong cause you dont make any distance.
I hope it help you.

That is incorrect. You do not need to waste $300 plus for a complete fuel pump assembly to correct a fuel gauge problem. There is a fuel level sending unit kit which can be purchased for under $100.00. The part is GM dealer or AC Delco Authorized Parts Stores only. Easy DIY job too.
Here is one where just the sending unit/float was replaced.

The problem happening right after a fuel module change makes me think they didn't get the vent lines connected properly. If the vent lines are tight, then the fuel tank vent valve located right next to the fuel module in the top of the tank (depending on the year of your car) may have been disconnected or is faulty. It's job is to vent air being displaced while filling the tank through the charcoal canister.

So the Vent line is the cause of this ridiculous problem!
How come the technicians did not look at that the second time I brought my car back ?
Where are they locate?
Can I untight them by myself?
Or I need to waste my time to go back the repair Shop?
I hope it will solve my problems.

You can check them DIY. The evaporative emissions line is the center one in the pic (right side). The two outer ones are fuel pressure and return. Just remove the 7 nuts holding the access cover located underneath the trunk carpeting. The area is located right behind the rear passenger seat in the trunk. You can use your fingers on the connector. The pressure sensor is the black object you see with the electrical connector on the top of the fuel pump assembly.
Another line is the vent line from the charcoal cannister to the fuel filler neck but you'll have to get underneath the car to check that.

Bend hose, broking line, disconnected line or hose etc ...?

It would help to see what is triggering the SES/CEL light. Do you have any DTC codes we can go by? Most likely evaporative emissions type but you never know for sure.

Oh yeah I recall that. Most likely related to that work done. If it is not the pressure sensor or one evaporative emissions line that feeds to the top of the fuel pump then it may be the big o-ring seal that seals the pump assembly to the top of the gas tank. Maybe they did not install it correctly or damaged it. Maybe even left it off? :dunno:

one evaporative emissions line that feeds to the top of the fuel pump :dunno:
The ridiculous problems was that they interchange those line
that was causing a leak of pressure causing the problem I had.
Will do some test this week just to be sure
I like to thanks all the guys who help me to resolve this problem
Thanks in advance!!!

Yes they did infact messed out those line

It seems like you have this solved, but I'm gonna offer my :2cents:
Venditi, try this next time you are at a pump and the you can't get the pump to stay running. Insert the gas nozzle all the way into the tank until you fill it stop. Pull the handle back about an inch and let the nozzle sit inside the tank at a slight angle (make sure you don't see the tip of the nozzle). Try pumping again.
I have this exact problem at certain gas stations in town. I dont' know why but if I hang the nozzle out just a little, it doesn't doesn't cut off until the tank is full...
I've never replaced my fuel pump or sending unit but I've had this wierdness since i bought my gtp and that was my solution.
