2000 Lesabre - No Heat

Hello,

Wouldn't you know it, the heater fails in the winter.

I've topped off the coolant, checked the heater hoses for uniform heat and checked the engine temperature. These items are fine but I get no heat. My hvac system is the manual control type. I can change the air from the heater to the vent and back with no problem.

I presume that there is some king of temperature control unit somewhere in the hvac system. Perhaps that it the culprit.

Any suggestions/ assistance will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

I would start with replacing the thermostat, or removing the current one and testing with a kitchen meat thermometer and some hot boiling water to see if it is opening properly or not at all. just my 2cents worth.:2cents: :2cents:

My 93 had no heat and all worked well. It turned out to be a plastic coolant hose fitting screwed in behind the alternator on the high side of the engine was cracked. I found it when I did a pressure test. NOTE: it did not leak because it was so high on the coolant system. I went to the Buick dealer and he had a metal replacement nipple for $14.00. The parts guy claimed to go through alot of them.
