why not get a cold air intake?
maybe one from aem, since everyone loves em... or go jdm with a mugen box and filter...
or get one from blitz, they have sweet filters, or hks... or...
get the idea?
get what you like... aem is most recognized

@benpui: If you have got the JDM Type-S intake then just buy a K&N replacement filter and keep it like it is. You could also remove the resonator then.

yes ... i already got a K&N air filter for my jdm h22a but it does sound nice at all.. maybe i'll change it to blizt SUS air filter.. I seen a car which is a mitsubitshi FTO mivec v6 engine has a really great sound. It sounds something like a formula 1 engine sound

you need a cai inorder to get a really nice tone from your intake. short ram doesnt cut it..it sounds too light. i use Iceman on mine since 98.

actually SRI's are louder and more pronounced as far as i'm concerned. and heat isn't that big of a problem in the prelude. the filter sits behind battery so the difference in air temp isn't considerable. ideally, you'd have a SRI with some sort of heat shield. myself, i have the injen SRI with a heat shield. i switched from a CAI and honestly, can't even tell the difference other than in sound. having the jrsc may cover up any noticable gain from an intake, but it seems to be divided from what i've researched. some prefer SRI's over CAI with ludes, and others vice versa.
