Any tips for a noob

I am 13 years old and i really want to draw cars, i'm not a good artist but i am determined to become the best i've tried to draw a few cars in the past but they just don't come out right, i can't draw. So i searched the net and found this site and i've seen your guys work and it is amazing, i especially like the work of "mycorolla" he is awesome i want to draw like him, so can any of you guys help me out and tell me how to draw cars i've seen a few tutorials but there not very helpful, any hints/tips and info is welcome. :grinyes:

The only way to get better is to practice. Pay close attention to the little details. Just copy what you see. Start with a side view. Sometimes its easier to break the object down into simpler shapes. The entire body could start as a rectangle, then three smaller ones for the hood section, cab, and trunk. Then put in the front and back glass, define the bumpers, etc. Just do it in steps and it becomes much easier. Once you can do a good side view, then you can start perspective which is much harder. But you just need to practice! Draw as much as you can thats the only way.

yeah, you should just practice. There is no magic advice that anybody is gonna give you here which will make you draw good right away. And dont worry if it doesnt turn out as you expected, it might take quite a lot of time before you do something you like.

I would also suggest not to trace or use grids, but rather learn how to see and measure the proportions and perspective.

I guess the most important thing is that you have fun while drawing. Maybe fun is the wrong word, maybe it's more pleasure. You must be happy while drawing. If you are, then you will automatically invest a lot of time in practising, which will make your work better and better.

Don't try to make plans like 'in a year I want to be as good as ...' Take your time. Maybe it will take you longer, maybe not. If you don't feel like drawing, stop it for a while. After some time you will feel the need to draw again, and these little time-outs can make you return as an even better artist.

See drawing as a matter of spending some free time on. It can make you go crasy when you make a schedule like 'today: drawing from 3pm to 5 pm' and then, you're just staring on your paper and nothing right seems to come to your mind. Personally, I'd say that I'm coming up with the best ideas and sketches when I'm in a hurry. I guess your brain works better then, and your senses an thoughts are more stimulated.

However, just draw.

forget about design. first of all you need to learn the technique. if you cant draw a car 3dimensional there is no use spending time on thinking about design and things you want to implement. as peepl said, u wont be coming up with what you wanted. start drawing simple forms like kubiks with wheels or ellipsoids with wheels. also check this out
