I have 1999 alero. It has been a very good car. It has the 2.4l engine and now has over 240,000 miles on it with no major engine problems. Of course we have had the usual problems like wheel bearings and brakes, I had to replace the drivers side window regulator and had to replace the alternator about 100,000 miles ago, the transmission started to slip a while back and I changed the filter and added new fluid and some Lucas oil and have had no problems yet. We still drive this car any where we go but the end is coming we will be looking for a new car soon and only hope the next one will be as good as our alero has been. I would like to thank every body on this forum for all the post. I have read a ton of them and many have been very helpful to me. I come to this forum any time I need help and I have not had to post anything yet because I look around and find that someone else has already posted the same question or problem I have. You guys are awesome!
