2000 Jimmy door panel removal/speaker replacement

I have 2000 Jimmy and I am looking to replace the 6 1/2" speakers on the front and rear doors on this car. I have a few questions about doing this.

I have manual roll up windows, and I am not sure how to get the roll-up handle off the door. I was told there is some sort of special tool. Is there an alternative way to get it off, not requiring a special tool?

I popped most of the fasteners holding the inside panel out, and now I can see that the stock speakers are held in by rivets. The manual I have states that I must drill out these rivets to get the speakers out. How will I install the new speakers after these rivets are drilled out? are there holes to put new screws into?

Also, I see that there is an opening for speakers on top of the dashboard. Anyone know what size speakers fit this opening? Also I see that there is wire attached to the underside of the grilles in these openings. Am I to assume that these are speaker wires? Are these wires already hooked up to the stock radio?
