Camaro has a power advantage of 15 HP and 20 TQ stock for stock, but I'm not sure how much less they weigh, the weight difference may even it out. Is your car a Y87?

i had a '90 camaro rs with the 305 and went against a supercharged grand am...the grand am won

my 95 grand am gt with a 3.1l beat a third gen with a 305 i think it is because the camaro is around four thousand pounds and the grand am is around the upper 2000 lb range also my car has a well designed cold air intake and free flow exauhst and his camaro wasnt well taken care of. so it all depends i personally think a camaro that is the same age as the grand am would stomp it though.

because the camaro is around four thousand pounds
Not so much. A 3rd gen is a fairly light F-Body. 3300 maybe.
the grand am is around the upper 2000 lb range
Little closer this time. Still off by a couple hundred. Lower 3000 range for that Grand Am.
The newer 3800 V6 Camaro should be faster than a 3400 Grand Am. Barely.
The 3400 Grand Am should be a touch quicker than the other V6 Camaros.
V6 Camaro weighs in around 3400 pounds (on average).
V6 Grand Am weighs in around 3150 pounds (on average).
Want to know for sure???? Go race.

sorry for the misinfo but those are stats on the sticker inside of the doors on my cars so i figured they wouldnt be wrong.95 grand am gt 86 camaro both v6 and with the camaro says 4022 lbs and is a v6 so i was willing to guess that a v8 would weigh
more.
more.

The door sticker is a rated capacity. Not how much it weighs. :grinyes:

It's probably because the 305 is generally considered a dog. I wouldn't be surprised to see a cobalt SS beating a 3rd gen camaro with a 305. Especially considering the average condition of third generations (especially with a 305 or v6).

WOW, I would have sworn 4,000lbs. Maybe that was why the car slid back across I95 after bouncing off that guardrail. Too bad, if I would have had that extra 600lbs I might have been able to take on that 18 wheeler that crushed my car!

Mine is 3590 pounds with a quarter tank of gas and no driver.
Iron block and 9" rearend added about 160 pounds to the car.

Iron block? I would be tempted to add that HP or STS turbo kit. Of course, if it's a daily driver and $5k is not readily in the bank I might change my mind.
By the way, haven't heard from you in years. Congrats on the Mod upgrade. Have you made anymore videos?

I went iron block in case I feel the need to fire boost/bottle at the motor later. Just a little insurance is all.

That was a great video. Loved the music and the way it was put together. Definitely not amateur material. As for stock "ish," that is quite misleading.
I'm glad I'm not the one buying your tires. I can't believe that car has such low miles for the amount of time you have owned it. You must not drive it much.
Forgive me for my rash "turbo" comment. If I was the owner I would leave perfection alone.
