Power Steering Porblem...

Lately, my power steering has been sucking ass. Sometimes, it's a little hard to turn the wheel while going slow. No biggy, but a hassle sometimes. When I turned the wheel then, it would make a squeeking sound from the steering wheel. Yesterday (before I got shit-faced), I was making a quick sharp turn in front of a car coming head in the opposite direction, and I lost all power steering half way through. Kinda scarey when you're going kinda quick and turning hard.
I haven't checked the fluid yet, which would probably give me an answer. It's cold outside. But it could be the pump if there i fluid? What else?
Oh yeah, remember when my antifreeze froze? Well I overflow the tank and radiator as usual, and it's been leaking out on my belt, making it sqeak. Could the belt just me slipping maybe? Maybe I should go outside.

My power steering blows ass if my car is not warmed up since it's been so cold around here. After 5-10 mins of driving though it goes back to almost normal. I would say it may be related to the cold.

It does it when the car is warm though now.

Check the fluid. Do you hear a whining or humming noise when you turn the wheel?

If there's antifreeze leaking on the belt, it shouldn't be slipping so much that you're losing power steering, it would just make a wicked squealing noise for awhile. Definitely check the fluid level, I'm guessing it's low. If you run it empty and seize up the pump, you'll snap the accessory belt, and I'm sure you don't want to be changing that outside in the cold now do ya? The fluid is most likely just low.

I just checked it and it's showing full. It's not really bolted on to anything so it was sitting sideways slightly. I adjusted it and going to run it to see if that helps some. But there's plenty of fluid in it as is. Well see when I get home and go out tonight.
