Street bike built from the Heller race bike kit. The intake hole was filled in the fairing, mirrors, a taillight and CF and headlight decals added. The paint is MM True Blue Pearl, Alclad 2 chrome wheels and metalizer finishes on most of the rest. I'm super happy with the model, I hope you like it too.

this is the first I've seen this build. I think it's fabulous! do you have any pics of what it looked like before the modifications? you said it has headlight decals? so does this kit have come with the option of race/street?

The kit is race only. It's the 2005 YZR-M1 from Heller. I wanted a street bike and as the race bike and street bike at least look a lot alike I went for it.
The Headlight decals are printed on white decal stock and given a coat of clear blue. I took the design from a picture of a real bike I found on the web.
For the markings on the bike I used a few of the kit decals adding the CF panel on the front fairing and of course the headlight decals I made.
The mirrors are scratch made from sequins, wire and epoxy while the taillight is made from some scrap red sprue.
PM me and I can send you a link to my WIP on another site.

Hi Ferrari TR. Must have missed the post. Interesting convertation. I like it a lot. Not much detail under those cowls I imagine? How much does one of those kits cost?

There's more detail in these kits than you'd guess from the low parts count.
The engine/frame is only 2 halves but the engraving is very nice and there is a 4 into 1 header between the radiator and engine even though you can not see it at all with the cowl in place. There are front and rear brake hoses molded with the forks and suspension too. The mounting pins for the fairing are the weakist point of the kit, and they really don't distract from the finished model. I got the kit last summer at my LHS(in the US) for about $8 USD. As far as I can tell the Heller and Airfix releases are the same too.
