Engine Stalls randomly without warning

I have a 1987 Buick LeSabre and I will be driving down the road and all of a sudden the car will just stop, no power at all. I get the service engine soon light that comes up on the dash along with the oil and battery light that comes on too (just as if was on aux).

I have had times that the engine does keep running but the service engine soon light pops on.

I pull over, shut the car off and start it right back up and it runs fine until the next time it happens.

This happens with a full tank of gas, low on gas, running for 1 hour, running for 10 minutes.

I have checked the computer for codes but I never seem to have one stored.

Checked Fuel pressure and it is fine at cold start and running for awhile.

Coil and ECM have been replaced.
Throttle Position Sensor has been replaced.
Computer has been replaced.
Plugs and wires have been replaced.

HELP!!!!

it might be your camshaft position sensor magnet it wears out and falls into your oil pan. check that it will cause it to stall when you let off the gas. or a loose battery connection, because the car will not run without a batery.

Thank you so much for your reply. It wasn't the camshaft sensor but you did put me on the right track.
It has been about 2 weeks now without any trouble. I changed the crankshaft sensor. It runs a little rough still and I'm still working on that but no stalls.
Thanks again for the help..............

I had the same problem with my 95 buick le sabre.. I was told it was the crank shaft sensor. i replaced that and it still stalled. so i stopped using my cruise control and then i had no problem with her unless she was extremly cold.

Hi all!

I have recently had a similar problemon my 92 Lesabre, but only after driving for a longer period of time, say at least 45min to an hour. I replaced the fuel filter (had the same problem many years ago with a different vehicle) and it's still doing the same. It happens intermittently. Most of the time it runs just fine, cruise or no cruise, hot or cold. A couple of days ago it was really bad for several miles, but then it just returned to normal. Since I was going at freeway speed, the engine stalled but came right back to life. I was once at a light and it just went dead but started right back up again as if nothing happened. I have about 163k miles on it. Could it be the camshaft magnet as well? I've read about it before. It seems it's just glued on? How difficult is it to fix? I do most of the maintenance on the vehicle myself.

WOW! I wonder if Webb got his car fixed after seven years has passed.

Oops, sorry, I did not realize the original post was that old. I just added to a recent dig, I guess. Mea culpa. I know the rules...
