Any of you guys ever replace the power steering pump??? I need help... I can't get the damn thing off.. the high pressure hose is impossible to get to... the nut that connects the high pressure to the pump is very hard to reach. Do I need some special tools to get the hose disconnected? And I also broke one of the 4 mounting bolts for the pump... this really sucks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

yea i got the Haynes book... but it didn't help. i bought some stubby wrenches and crowfoot wrenches... so hopefully, when i try this again this weekend, i'll have better luck with getting to those nuts and bolts off.

I found this Tech Manual CD for ford cars... it has a lot of step-by-step instructions for doing all types of maintenance...

I also got some crowsfoot wrenches that might be helpfull in getting this pump removed.

I used a crow's foot wrench (18mm) to loosen the high pressure hose from the pump. Then I was able to get the remaining mounting bolts.
