at the Track this summer...

My buddy thinks his car is the fastest car in the world, he is a bit exgarrating. He told me that he hit 110 before a quarter mile...obviously not possible unless you have like a ferrari... He drives a Neon NON SRT4. 2.0 DOHC. He wants to race me now, and I told him no because he's stupid and I don't feel like dieing on these icy roads, so we're going to the track with friends as soon as it opens....anyway question time. His Neon versus my Cavy.... who would win? 2.2 Non Ecotech, 2.5 inch catback, greddy style exhaust system, 4" tip, Cold air intake, Auto (mine) versus 2.0 DOHC, 3" muffler tip, cold air intake, 5-speed...

I would give him 1000:1 odds that hes going to win. I'm sorry, but your Cavalier is going to run a mid 15 at best but i bet you're going to be in the mid 16s whereas the SRT4 is going to run low 14's and maybe a high 13 if it is BONE STOCK. I'm sorry to tell you but you dont have a chance against him. I raced my buddy's SRT4 before my GSR was turboed and it was a pretty bad race...he took me pretty much from the beginning. If you can beat a 99 GSR Integra (which idk if you can or not) then you're on your way....GOOD LUCK regardless!!

The Neon is NOT a SRT4.

I'd give the race to the neon though because he has a manual vs your auto.

I can't, 3-spd auto, not 4-spd. Already looked into it. Yeah base model neon vs base model cavalier. Most likely going to be close but I just wanted some reassurance, lol.

I have a friend also who owns a neon w/ the same exact 2 mods. he thinks hes unstoppable. i just laugh at him...

but ya... if ur friend has a "sport" model then he will prolly win by a half a car length give or take. if he has a "highline" model, he will probably just edge u out. sport kicks out 150 HP, highline kicks out about 130 HP...

so either way, u will prolly lose unless he misses a shift

dude have faith...i know people like your friend. sad but true... he will rev his little engine to get peoples attention and then he'll pop the clutch to try to do a burnout and he will destroy the cv shafts and (unless some act of hezuse happens) he'll stall and his engine will be f^$%ed

Like PsychoJJ said if u had a 2.4 u beat him by 2 secs, i've raced my friend when he had his neon n kicked the living shit outta him. But should be a head to head race, interesting to see what happens. let us kno.

It just got stakes put on it, lol. He owes me 40 bucks for that piece of shit muffler that I sold to him, lol. And he's like why don't we race for it, and I'm like, no you already owe me that, how about double or nothing. I win you give me 80 bucks, I win I get nothing and you owe me nothing.... Now it's for money, so I'm going to have to do some homework. Before the race, take my air filter off, let some air out of the tires, take my woofers out, and hope he messes up his launch, lol.

HAHAHA this is funny me and my 1 friend r the same way he has a 1992 Talon with a 2.0L DOHC 5-speed and i have the 1997 Z24 2.4L DOHC with and 4-speed Auto (his talon is not the all wheel drive 1 or turboed) both cars r pretty much stock only K&N air filters. Im not really sure who would win the race but in the summer were going to the track.
I was going to take my subs back seat spare tire and jack out put higher octane gas in change the oil before and lower the air pressure in the tires

Those figures are beyond BS. Only thing right about them might be the stock HP. The stock ecotec will only put down mid 15's all night long. So you do the math folks.
