01' 325 Rough Idle

My 325 has just recently started having a rough idle especially once warm and stopped -- if I don't keep my foot on the gas at a stop I'm sure the engine would die on me. It doesn't happen all the time just periodically. The check engine light is now on too. I'm checking it out today but first wanted to see if any one had similar problems or any ideas on potential issue. Thanks for any advice.
