Dragster Suspension

ALright, here is my problem. My mid-engine El Camino is dead! It is now a dragster El Camino. I removed the bed floor and have a wheel and axle fit so that it fits inside the box at a stock or lower height. Now my question is, how does the suspension work in top fuel dragsters? I need to know because it is the axle from an old top fuel dragster. The only thing between the wheels is the differential, there is no axle hardly. Also what should I do about a frame for around the wheel/axle section? Any ideas?

Top Fuel dragsters have no rear suspension... The rear axles are bolted directly to the frame. The rear tires are the only "suspension" these cars see. You may be able to modify a T/F rear frame section to work in your Elky.
If you want a rear suspension I would suggest starting with a Pro-Stock car. They have a generic 4-link with coil overs and you could adapt the rear frame/suspension to your truck a little easier.
I also have a lot of rear suspension and drag car parts on my website if you are interested in turned aluminum and photo-etched parts. Check my site at: www.mas-parts.com

I only have the axle and tires from the kit, so I can't use part of the original T/F kit in my 1/24 El Camino. I was thinking of just attaching the axle to the frame but wasn't sure if that would be possible in reality. Another idea is to make a bracket type affair that goes on top of the differential then two small coilovers/springs attach the bracket/axle to the frame. Does this seem like a possible setup?
