Some may say i'm nuts, but i voted for the CD player. Can't be rolling around in a nice ride without some tunes blastin through the windows.
besides, when you're lining up, the guy against you will droip his windows and crank his stereo to compete with you.
At which time you put yours up and kill the stereo, and the a/c, and blow him out of the water.
this is my experience, and i think it's your best choice. whatever comes your way, merry christmas!
LOL!!

Come on TV, get a lightweight Carbon Fiber CD player... save yourself some weight there! :D
But seriously, I voted for the CD player... but only so you don't gain any performance so I can beat you at the races:finger:

how could you be driving so long without a sound system? how do you deal with those early mornings, and when your with a bunch of boys. you can't blast yoru music just cruising around town. well i voted to the CD player obviously. but for a nice one that would make a difference over your stock system. i would suggest something more expensive then that. and it will also spruce up your interior alot. but as your adding the new head unit you also need to give them new speakers becaseu the stock 20watt speakers will blow when you put a 400watt unit to it.

:D I've got some new speekers and a massive sub box chillin in my room care of DMC12, he didnt need them so i'm gonna hook them up once I get an amp for the bass
Sprucing up the interior? Already doing so at a slow pace! ;) It was grey, i'm making it black with blue accents, also i'm going to replace my gauges in my dash from idiot gauges to probally phantom guages, or just some generic black guages.
Man, noone wants me faster :p

I've got an amp from my dad that he said he would sell to you for $5 (because we don't know if it works). Its a 200W amp, bridgeable. I'll bring it by tonight:D

OH OH I VOTED FOR GEARS!
i was going to vote for the CAM, cause who cares about music when you can hear the lopy idle? Thats much more pleasing to the ear.
Who needs a stereo? its just weight.
Nova aint gonna have nothing other than basic CD player and basic speakers.
Hell i may not put in a CD player. AM RADIO ONLY... FM is heavier...
 stop looking at me like that...
:uhoh: ... they're trying to get in my head..... STOP IT!... wheres my tin foil hat...?

More HP more Torque! Intake :)

I voted for gears, you would not believe the difference they would make. Forget the intake, you already have the cobra intake which has decent low end ability, you already have the e303 cam? thats a decent cam that would complement steep gears. The shift kit and the springs are decent ideas as well.

Gears and a shift kit. You really need both...
You've got too many goodies in that engine to be wasting them with a stock shift pattern...

Well, if my recollection of the early 90s birds is right, you should have a A4LD tranny, and an 8.8 rear, right? Consider before you dig into the tranny, replacing it with something like an AOD-E, or one of those 5 speed autos.
The gears are a must have!

the normal T-5 is a POS tranny, a built one is good, but way the hell too much work to fit onto my bird, and too much money
I'd love to get a AOD like the stangs, but thats gonna cost me several hundred more than i'll have for christmas and b-day combined :(
I have the 4R70W Transmiton, much like the AODE
The problem being it goes 1-D-OD-N-R-P So, I rev to 5grand in 1st, then it shifts at 4.3 in the other gears, if I could have the shift points changed *like at a dyno* this would help alot.

gears.
they make a ton o difference....
screw the music... i've been rolling around with my new titanium exhaust, and no radio, just because i like the way it sounds... and it kinda drowns out the music anyways...
i had a decibel meter on it, and it hits 116db... kinda loud, but oh so sweet...
oh yeah, on topic... gears.

<blink, blink>
Anyways, you've got a decent build going, without getting into anything crazy like blowers or raised compression. With a tranny shift kit, and gears, you'll be able to make the most of what you've done.
I really don't see the point in spending as much as you have on an engine if the gearing is set up for long distance cruising...

Ha, the 5.4 is a weak engine! Use the 6.8 Triton!
Come on, 7 liters of OHC smallblock V10, how could you not! Think of the possibilities with 10:1 compression, good dual exhaust, a couple good cams and a full porting job? I think 400 hp is not unreasonable.
I've seen the swap done in a Mustang, and it weighs LESS than the 5.0

Did you read my post in Holley vs Edelbrock about the 400M? I could give you some pretty good formulas for that engine, and you could canabilize a few parts from your 5.0 HO if you went down that road.
You can usually get one from a junkyard, with a C6 attached for about $500. A rebuild kit with forged 8.3:1(I know, it's still too low) pistons from Summit costs $430. Lots of parts(including heads) are directly interchangeable from Cleveland motors! In fact, it's a 2 barrel 351C, with an extra 50 cubes, and really restrictive exhaust ports.
That would be a good engine to build as a spare, and I bet your manifolds and fuel injection stuff would fit, if you had an adapter fabbed up.
Or you could go the path of the man, and make your own intake manifol, out of tube aluminum and an aluminum box section!
With supercharging or turbocharging, this engine makes SICK power.

For a lot less money too... Crazy power, monstrous torque, modern fuel injection, digitial ignition! Come on, what more could you want?
Did I mention it's a 7 liter Cleveland smallblock? Not hard to get 75hp/liter either, an easy 500hp!
