Passport trans leak

My wife has a 200 passport. The transmission was leaking last week. I originally misdiagnosed the leak as coming from the front pan gasket. I got everything back together and it still was leaking. Upon better examination, I found fluid coming out of the rubber stopper looking device right above the front pan. What is this called? This thing is recessed into the transmission just above the front pan on the passenger side. I just need a name or a part number and if anyone has ever dealt with this.

it's common.

get it fixed asap, these trannies don't like low fluid.

Thanks amigo. That is exactly what I needed. Now I can just call and get the parts a lot easier. I have never done much transmission work before but this one seems like it is not very well designed just going by what I have heard.
Another question, in refilling the fluid the other day, when I took the tube out after putting about 6 quarts of fluid in, it just started coming out everywhere while I was putting the plug back in. Can I remedy this problem by turning on the engine and putting it in gear (with the brake on) while refilling. How many quarts should it hold. I heard approx. 6-7 quarts.
Thanks!

about your last question about checking fluid level, yes do it while running. urge you to look up the info in the FAQ, it's important

and to check that part yourself use this alerted to us by 2eye...

it's a great, official, isuzu parts site. it'll keep the counter parts guy 'honest', and faster, too.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the info on Friday. I called the local Honda dealer on the way home from work Friday and they actually had the accumulator cover in stock. It cost 13 dollars. After finding the right set of C-ring pliers, I got the old one off yesterday. It was tough getting the new one back in place until I used a socket and a pry bar to finally get it in right. Thanks again for all of the useful information in saving me a lot of time and money.

thanks for the followup.
exactly how did you use the socket and pry bar, i.e. what did you use for the leverage point? and getting it off, did you need to use it?
thanks
