Michelin PAX replacement

Has anyone found a substitute for the POS (PAX) Michelin tire system on the Odyessy Touring models? Not happy with tread wear, traction design, and the monopoly on choice.

Don't know if you figures it out or not. Just got news I needed new tires on my 2005 Touring. Only 30K on this set. Pax replacments were priced for me @ $ 1200 for just 4 tires. Yeah right. So through some digging you can find ten spoke LX wheels and new tires (Goodyear Assurance triple tread) and you are out-the-door for just over $800 with entirely new wheels.
Even trying to get Michelin PAX from a tire store, you only save a few $. I am in the Chitown area and even her you have no choice because of the wheels and the run-flat feature.
Good luck.

redstinger333,
Thanks for the reply. I'm still using the PAX tires, and I've replaced 2 of them at my dealer for a total $445 including installation. Maybe I have a dealer with a better break on tires.
But Tire Kingdom quoted $1300 for a set of 4, so your estimate beats that.
A service rep at a dealer while on a trip told me that the pressure monitors would fit in any rim so any tire/rim combo could be monitored with no problems. Did you do this with the Goodyears?

I just bought a 2006 Odyssey Touring. At first, the salesman said that it didn't have PAX. He even said, you prolly dont want it anyway since it does have higher cost in maint/replacement. It was a certified pre-owned from honda, so in other words, I really couldn't be picky.
Anyway, I got home and took a closer look, and the turn out to be PAX!
I was thinking I could just replace the tires with normal tires, but are you saying that I would also have to replace the rims too!?
