3000GT Modding

So I am a happy owner of a 1991 Mist 3000GT Base. I bought the car it had 212k on the odometer. I gave it to a mechanic so he could replace somethings on it to make it pass smog. He tells me it has 3 quarts of oil in it. 24 hours later Im on a deserted highway and decided to have some fun. It hit atleast 140mph I think it was closer to 150mph. Ended up only have less than 1 quart of oil in it. Blew the top and bottom end and some other serious serious damage. I more recently lost my license with a possesion of alcohol citation. Currently it is sitting in a shop with an imported Japanese motor with only 30k miles on the engine. New clutch, flywheel, engine mounts and starter plus misc hoses and fluids.
I have read on this forum that for only a few thousand you can get your car in the 11s and still street legal. I saw a race team with a 10 seconds 3kgt and it read they spend $8800 in aftermarket parts for it. Im wondering if anyone can give me a shopping list of what I should buy to the car to make it faster. I am not sure but it seems that since its not a vr4 it will be more costly to get it in the low teens, but I saw a 3sx 3000gt SL do 9.6 so nothing is impossible I suppose. The list would be more of a goal to work for and start putting money down as the years go by so dont worry about this part costs a lot or anything like that. All shall come in time. And thank you very much in advance. :)

So let me get this straight. You beat the shit out of your engine knowing it was low on oil and in the process blew it up. You lost your liscence too. And you want to know how to make it run 10's? LMAO
Date of Birth:

^^^ Explains it all
There is no FWD in the 9's. The 3sx SL went 10.1 and it has extensive mods. That is the ONLY FWD in the 10's. The closest FWD time was 11.8.
Forget about making your car faster. You've had your liscence less than 4 months and lost it already??? Grow the fuck up before you even think about trying to go that fast. You have ZERO experience. Its kids like you that kill innocent people.

to answer your question, forced induction is the only way to get to those times. But take stealthee's advice. You need more experience, and that will only come with time. Your base 3k had ~160 hp before you blew it up. one that runs 11s will have 3 times that.
not meant an as insult, but you really do need to grow up. Your only 17, youll have pleanty of time to get a nice car. if you get one now youll end up wrapping it around a tree. gotta learn to walk before you can run.

Thats what I said when I read the thread.
I think I lost about 10 IQ points trying to decipher WTF the OP was trying to convey. So that takes me down to about 115-120?? Hell I'd still smoke in the OP in intelligence.
And as for my post I stand by it. Sure it may make me look like an asshole but sometimes kids need to have the n00b smacked out of them before they kill themselves or worse yet, some innocent bystander.
Whats even funnier is he logged on today and read some of these posts, yet hasnt come back with any quips. Maybe I scared him away.

Blink, he said 91 base...it's 222hp.
While I agree with the general message Stealthee is trying to convey, that is not how we are going to treat new members. Raider, if you read the FAQ, there is alot of good advice for new owners/drivers. However, I also suggest you follow that up by reading the 'vr4 as your first car' thread. Because there are 2 specific points in there that I think are extremely important for you to understand.
1) Fast cars are expensive to own, parts are expensive, parts break easier, etc. You don't get into the 11s working at McDonalds.
2) The entire section about new drivers owning vr4s. They are 13 and 14 second cars and we don't think it's a good idea people you're age get one. And you are talking about owning a car with 2-3x that power.
