Oil leaking from PCV hose

Well, Went to the driveway today and found a spot of oil underneath the car. Open the hood and it's coming from the PVC hose, dripping down around the spark plugs and down on the ground.

Any ideas on what is wrong? I did some searches and a bad PCV valve will apparently cause too much pressure in the crankcase... but never any posts i could find with oil actually coming from the hose. The hose on this one is kinda foam-like and it actually appears that some of the oil is seeping through the hose, as well as the hose being too loose on the fittings. I put some hose clamps on each end, but afterwards this is when the oil started seeping through the hose.

I have pics but they are on my phone and I cannot get them off because my cable is at work, I'll have to get the pics tonight or tomorrow. But any help now would be of great help.

Replace the $3 PCV valve, hose, and clamps. That should get you on your way.

Will do, but the PCV valve seems to be working fine. I get suction on both the hose before it and afterwards. When I got the car it did not have clamps on it, it put them there to see if it would stop the oil leak.

It just started doing this one day, and the hose appears to be in the same condition as it was earlier.

Is oil even supposed to be in that hose?

Go to mitsubishi dealer and get the pcv.

I had the same problem when I bought both my eclipses. It's a simple fix. Replace the pcv as they said and put a new section of hose on. It seems to build up by blowing through a bit (it happens... oil sloshes around in the engine) and then when the hose gets alot it seems to seep through. It's a cheap fix but it works.

Your engine is fine just replace that stuff.

Thanks all. I replaced the Valve and it appears to be doing much better. I think it still leaks a bit(a few drops every day), but I'll replace the hose when I get the chance and see if thats helps any.

Just goto Autozone for hose and clamps. Buy a foots-worth and you'll be good.
