my vtec-e rocket

Ok i asume no one has ever thought an hx could be fast so I wanted ta get ur-alls opinion..k.....here we go.....u know since there the vtec-e and all..........I started off orderind a intake...then a header that did fit but no o2......ewww not pretty...check engine stayed on and ran crappy...so I cut the pipe and put a cat on and extended the o2 and wow! IT WORKED... got muffler..then computer work then I got a Venom 400...........This thing ran good for an hx....but i did notice that it didnt kick in til 2700 give or take a little.......So then I got brave and had JE make some pistons......15:1 comp..height..that was alot....got crower forged rods..left the factory crank..got crower valve and valve springs..and titanium retainers, total seal rings..bored 100 thousanths..I didnt even re-sleeve..cuz it made no sense..I ordered new sleeves and u had to bore into the aluminum in the block...so either u had less sleeve or less aluminum but still come out with the same thickness..so I just kept the new sleeves aside incase I threw a wrist pin or some insane thing....I'd have extra sleeves..then I got a venom intake manifold...venom 340 cc injectors..and fuel rail..and all the car jewlery venom makes..Fuel pump too...I forgot bout that..all in polished and a couple odds and ends im sure ive forgot....Now im waitin on my Nitrous...it'll be here on Friday...venom vcn1000 kit its actually for the vtec-e too..Im impressed..and about the only person in the world that has hopped upo an hx....I got mk sport wheels chrome..heavy as heck...toyo tires...pocket fenders..wing...bomex kit...euros..and it looks great and all the mods listed on my car...pretty neat I guess??....and its now just a race every saturday thing...It take turbo Blue 116 octane..It sucks money wise...lata!

If your so into making your HX fast why did you buy heavy chrome wheels. Besides the fact that I think chrome wheels are ugly, they slow you down. Also, with the amount of money you spen on that entire setup you could have had a new car with a nicer motor, nicer interior, and nicer body that ran on cheaper gas....

Or am I just an idiot and this is all a big joke?

into an hx. just a motor swap alone will yeild the hp' ur looking for.
i have no idea what my hx runs for et's, but i can say that the motor is a big pile of shit and i would waste the time to try figure the best way to get hp out of it either.. that's what hks,aem,& neuspeed is for!

put it this way. if an hx was a good motor to build you would have parts for it, not make me this or can you do that. you would buy the parts already dyno and what have you. plain n simple.

if you own an hx like me the best i can say is the only good thing the car has is a great platform to build on, so know what you have, do a little research and you'll find a much better and more efficent way to gain hp to the level your're at now..

you guys really are ignorant when it comes to some things......... this car is seriously fast..... its already beaten a TA, and thats before tuning, with the timing retarded all the way, and without the intake or exhaust on it. and when I say intake I DO NOT mean cold air, I mean intake manifold...... do yall know what that is????? or are you a bit too much ricer to have knowledge????

I will admit that an engine swap may have been a better choice BUT there is somethin something to be said for originality. LOT easier to get records, and its alot more fun to do, because you can't just call up summit or wherever and say "send me your fast stuff for my POS"

there is a speed shop here that has a 10.3 second S10 SS...... running a 4.3 V6 turbo...... why not run a V8 turbo? cause they wanted to be different. I do beleive that they hold the record for stock body/stock cast block S10....

I've got some pics, but you can't tell that anything power wise is done to the car at that point, they are without the intake manifold installed, and since there are no turbo's or no supercharger, or no nitrous, you would think its stock. plus he won't let me post those pics up, because they are before the ground effects got painted, and it does look kinda shitty with an unpainted Bomex kit and Bright Silver paint job............

and I know for a fact they have a record for the worlds fastest Syclone, I think it was 9.7.......

this truck is a NEW model S10 SS with a factory cast iron block, its just bored

I don't know why you would even want an HX in the first place, unless you were a commuter, and was woried about gas, but in that case you wouldn't of sunk your life savings into a VENOM civic,...
