ZC code 9

can anybody help me. I have a 88 ZC that i did the swap and i also did my friends with an 89 zc but i cant do the timing on it. the cars runs about 16 degrees off. i have the distributer fully advanced and i get code 9. I know code 9 is cylinder 1 and its detected by the lil censor in front of the distributer. how can i get the car to run with the proper timing. i had no probles with my car:smoker2:
