I was wondering what the name is for the kind of art that you take a picture, cut it in half and draw the other side

Its been on my mind all month and I don't know what it is, at school we had to do an art project so I did a Jeep Compass, preaty nice too.. also I have a "cut away" motor in the works

thanks in advance!

Am I wrong?..I thought that Cutaways were renderings of a car , truck..etc,,(whatever) where you are looking through the body and seeing the engine...wiring seats etc. They are like ghost images of a car seeing all the internals.. As for what it is when you only draw 1/2 a car to match up to a picture of the other 1/2.. I am not sure what it is called...

according to:

they are called "half n' half" drawings, its not a bad name but there has to be a better one
